As teachers we should asses our students, and sometimes you have to look for a different technique   to evaluate them in a different way, so what about Online Forms?
Online Forms are very useful in the process of evaluting your students, allow them to practice what they had learn and get closer with technology.

The importance of teaching through songs

There is strong practical evidence supporting the use of music in the English language classroom; there is also a growing body of research confirming that songs are a useful tool in language acquisition. In fact musical and language processing occur in the same area of the brain. Songs are also known to lower the “affective filter” or, in other words, to motivate learners to learn. some reasons for teaching English areListening to music is fun,  Music leads to better retention of language, Developing cultural awareness   and    Music motivates and involves learners

There are more reasons, such as;
  • Songs almost always contain authentic, natural language
  • A variety of new vocabulary can be introduced to students through songs
  • Songs are usually very easily obtainable
  • Songs can be selected to suit the needs and interests of the students
  • Grammar and cultural aspects can be introduced through songs
  • Time length is easily controlled
  • Students can experience a wide range of accents
  • Song lyrics can be used in relating to situations of the world around us
  • Students think songs are natural and fun
The reasons are many, and the results in teaching too, so let´s use songs;

Song

Tittle:  “Let It Be”

Author: The Beatles

Instructions: Read the song and underline all the pronouns you find in here.

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be

And when all the brokenhearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be

For though they may be parted
There is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be

Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Yeah, there will be an answer let it be

Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be

Let it be, let it be
Let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be

And when the night is cloudy
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be

I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

Yeah, let it be, let it be
Let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be

Let it be, let it be
Let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be
